The most important part of your online IGCSE English Language LearnOnline course (apart from you) is your dedicated tutor. Every LearnOnline tutor has extensive academic experience and have taught IGCSE English Language in the classroom as well as online. During your enrolment onto the course, you will be assigned your tutor who will support you for up to 24 months during your studies. English Language Paper 1: Non-fiction Texts and Transactional Writing– 4EA1/01

• The contemporary non-fiction texts from Part 1 of the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE English Anthology
• Develop skills to analyse how writers use linguistic and structural devices to achieve their effects
• Explore links and connections between writers’ ideas and perspectives
• Develop transactional writing skills for a variety of purposes and audiences
• Use spelling, punctuation and grammar accurately

2 hours 15 minutes– written paper
60% of IGCSE

English Language Paper 2: Poetry and Prose Texts and Imaginative Writing – 4EA1/02

Content summary

• The poetry and prose texts from Part 2 of the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE English Anthology
• Develop skills to analyse how writers use linguistic and structural devices to achieve their effects
• Develop imaginative writing skills to engage the reader
• Use spelling, punctuation and grammar accurately

60 marks
1 hour 30 minutes – written paper
40% of IGCSE 

Students will be provided with the anthology text in the examination

It is your responsibility to find an exam centre and we recommend you book your exams 6 months prior to the date of exams (exams  are not included in the course fees).
