LearnOnline from Pembrokeshire College gives you access to GCSEs and A Levels from the comfort of your own home.
Once enrolled, each unit is divided into coursework sessions that will be made available to you to work through at your own pace according to the textbook or additional online material – each session will ask you to complete a series of questions and exercises to be submitted to your tutor for feedback and marking.

“I personally thought the best aspect of the course was the practical endorsement for both AS and A-level. This was taught to a very high standard, was really good fun, and delivered a wide range of lab skills as well as an ecology trip to the sand dunes. The whole practical endorsement could be done in one week of work rather than being split across multiple weekends. Marina Parker – Recently achieved A grade results to gain a place at Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences: “I think Pembrokeshire College’s online service is fantastic for mature students or learners who cannot give up a full time job. For me, leaving my job and attending a local college was not an option as I am reliant on my income to pay for my current living and future university costs.
I looked into a number of distance learning companies and colleges before choosing Pembrokeshire. The larger companies seemed impersonal and despite some of them being cheaper the quality of the support provided had received mixed reviews. I was aware that Pembrokeshire offered support for a longer period of time and in addition help and advice with personal statements and applying to university.
In addition the science A levels have a significant practical element, which was not always offered with other companies; you had to arrange this with a local school. My situation does not currently require me to take the practical exams, but with Pembrokeshire the option was there and still is, should things change. I have found the support incredibly helpful and would recommend the college over all others for distance learning.”

Jessica, 22, achieved her desired grades in A-level Physics – “When I decided to take a different degree but did not have the correct A Levels, Pembrokeshire College helped me to take the Physics A Level I needed in a year so that I could get into the course I wanted. I am now studying Astrophysics BSc at the University of Hertfordshire and get to spend a year in the USA.

Samira Bahabadi – January 2014 “The college provided the student with a spacious laboratory for biology and chemistry practical’s. The teachers are very helpful and supportive during experiment as they first go through the introduction which helped me to have a better understanding of experiment. Even though it was my first time to attend the college both teachers for chemistry and biology went through the examples before initial experiments. I’m hoping to attend for A2 practical’s at Pembrokeshire College, even though I am living miles away. All in all much recommended.”
2015 A level results saw strong growth for LearnOnline with 34% of students achieving A*/A grades and 87% of students achieving their AS/A level qualification in their chosen subject.
