Marina Parker – Recently achieved A grade results to gain a place at Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences: “I think Pembrokeshire College’s online service is fantastic for mature students or learners who cannot give up a full time job. For me, leaving my job and attending a local college was not an option as I am reliant on my income to pay for my current living and future university costs.
I looked into a number of distance learning companies and colleges before choosing Pembrokeshire. The larger companies seemed impersonal and despite some of them being cheaper the quality of the support provided had received mixed reviews. I was aware that Pembrokeshire offered support for a longer period of time and in addition help and advice with personal statements and applying to university.
In addition the science A levels have a significant practical element, which was not always offered with other companies; you had to arrange this with a local school. My situation does not currently require me to take the practical exams, but with Pembrokeshire the option was there and still is, should things change. I have found the support incredibly helpful and would recommend the college over all others for distance learning.”
