Navigating A-Level NEAs and Exam Entries with LearnOnline
At LearnOnline, we specialise in providing expert guidance and support for A-level Non-Exam Assessments (NEAs) and exam entries. With years of experience, we’ve developed a seamless process to ensure that learners excel in their assessments while navigating the complexities of exam entry.
Assessment & Appeals
Our dedicated subject specialists are qualified to assess and mark NEAs with precision. We guide learners through every step of the process, providing clear instructions and timely reminders to ensure they meet deadlines.
Here’s how it works:
- Final Project Submission: Learners submit their NEAs by the end of February.
- Marking & Appeals: Tutors assess the projects, and learners receive their marks by the end of March. If a learner wishes to appeal their mark, we arrange for an independent assessor to review the project.
- Final Submission: Once the appeals process is complete, all marks are submitted to our Exams Team by May.
This streamlined approach ensures every learner is supported and has an opportunity to showcase their best work.
Exam Centres
While LearnOnline is based in beautiful Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, we recognise that our remote location isn’t practical for most learners to sit their exams. To address this, we collaborate with exam centres across the UK.
The Process
- By the end of October (in the same academic year as the A-level completion), learners inform us of their preferred exam centre.
- LearnOnline contacts the chosen centre to confirm its availability to host the learner as a “transferred candidate.”
What Does “Transferred Candidate” Mean?
For A-levels involving NEAs, the process requires collaboration between LearnOnline at Pembrokeshire College, and the learner’s chosen exam centre. Pembrokeshire College officially enters the candidate for the A-level qualification and applies for transferred candidate application so the learner can complete their written exams at the centre of their choice.
The A-level results come from us, but the centre of your choice host and invigilate your written exams.
Costs to Consider
- The entry of an A level for exam can cost between £250 and £500 depending on the centre you choose.
- LearnOnline charges £175 transferred candidate fee.
- The hope is that the exam centre of choice charges a reduced hosting fee, ensuring your total exam fee remains similar to if you were entering for straightforward 100% written exam subject.
