New Year Resolutions
The concept of New Year’s resolutions can be dated back as far as 4000 years! The ancient Babylonians would make promises to their Gods, such as repaying debts, or planting crops, in order to win their favour. They believed if they broke these promises they would be punished.
Roll on nearly 2000 year later to ancient Rome, where Julius Caesar invented a new calendar, naming January after the two-faced God, Janus. He declared January 1st New Year’s Day, the Romans would make sacrifices to the Gods asking for a prosperous Year ahead.
Nowadays, we are less about the promises to the Gods, and more about promises to ourselves. As we enter December, and we see the end of the year approaching, here at LearnOnline we want to know;
