What is LiveSchoolOnline?

A level Computer Science LiveSchoolOnline is a new way of learning with LearnOnline.

In addition to our standard A level Computer Science course (worth £600) you also will have access to 50 x 2 hour lessons delivered live by your course tutor (1 per week during term time throughout the course). All of these live sessions are also recorded allow you to access any of your previous lessons whenever you want to, which is very useful for revising!

LiveSchoolOnline also includes revision and exam preparation sessions towards the end of the course as well as 2 marked past papers.

The LiveSchoolOnline course is broken down into 6 terms, 3 in year 1 and 3 in year 2. Each term is 10 weeks long.

Your A level Computer Science course contains a number of Assignments which your dedicated course tutor will mark and give you valuable feedback on throughout your study.

Examinations

Paper 1: Computer systems (01)

During your course you will choose a computing problem to work through according to the guidance in the specification.

Arranging Your Exams

Students are required to arrange and pay for their examinations themselves
(we can arrange for you to sit your exams at Pembrokeshire College if you wish).

Students must check with the relevant examination board for final examination dates.

You will need to register for your exams at least 3 months prior to exam dates.

You will receive all necessary text books as part of your A level Computer Science LiveSchoolOnline course.

Tutor Support

The most important part of your online A level Computer Science Liveschoolonline course (apart from you) is your dedicated tutor. All of our tutors have extensive academic experience and have all taught A level Computer Science in the classroom as well as online. You will be assigned a tutor as soon as you enrol on your course who will support you for 24 months during your studies. You can contact your tutor via email, messaging or telephone with any questions.

Previous Knowledge

We recommend a GCSE grade C or above in IT/Computer Science and a strong grasp of English and Maths as well as some programming experience/knowledge – If you are new to programming, we provide a range of programming support at the beginning of the course.
